Job summary

Software Placement Group, SPG, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Aviation Litigation Practice Group in California. This role offers hybrid or remote work options within the state and an annual base salary of $160,000–$200,000, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities include legal research, drafting filings, depositions, client reporting, and collaboration with partners to advance case strategy. California Bar in good standing and 3+ years of litigation are required.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing.
• 3+ years of substantive litigation experience.
• Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, and legal briefs.
• Strong legal research skills using Westlaw, Lexis, or Nexis.
• Experience preparing correspondence, opinion letters, and client reports.
• Ability to manage document review and discovery processes.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and prepare detailed analyses.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related filings.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Interview clients, eyewitnesses, and other relevant parties.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive reporting to clients regarding case status and strategy.
• Engage in significant direct communication with clients and insurers.
• Assist in all phases of case development, litigation strategy, and trial preparation.
• Collaborate with partners and team members to advance case objectives with efficiency and precision.
