Job summary

Honda is seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee IHM parts quality and related engineering activities, ensuring compliance with design criteria, quality standards, and production requirements for aircraft engine components.

You will support new hardware/process maturation, participate in nonconforming part investigations, and drive corrective/preventive actions while collaborating with cross-functional teams. A Bachelor’s in engineering and CAD/CATIA proficiency are expected.

Qualifications

• Must understand drawings and specifications and communicate technical information effectively.
• Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards and experience with MRB and First Article review is a plus.
• 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role.

Responsibilities

• Support IHM quality activities and review final inspection sheets and process documentation.
• Assist investigations of nonconforming parts (NCMR) and coordinate with engineering.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions for IHM quality improvements.
• Support design change investigations for manufacturing-related activities.
• Review processes to ensure design requirements are met and maintained.

Job Purpose

Quality engineer, responsible for the activities associated with product quality and engineering activities related to IHM parts and overall part quality control. Assure compliance to design criteria, quality standards, and production requirements for parts and equipment used to manufacture aircraft engine components. Support new hardware and process development to ensure sufficient maturation and past problem prevention.

Key Accountabilities

• Support IHM for quality related activities. Review completed product final inspection sheets and special process documentation for acceptability
• Support of non-conforming part related investigations (NCMR) and review with engineering
• Implement corrective action and preventative action support for IHM
• Design Change investigation support for manufacturing related activities
• Review processes (Routers, FMEA, operation standards, process control sheets and all other control documentation) to ensure design requirements have been met

Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, etc) or related Associates degree with experience

Minimum Experience

• 3 years experience in manufacturing quality role
• Computer skills Microsoft Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Other Job-Specific Skills

• Must be able to understand drawings and specifications with ability to communicate technical information effectively
• Good interpersonal skills and self-motivation with the ability drive continuous improvement
• Experience with CAD/ CATIA and working knowledge of gauging, calibration, GD&T and CMM
• Experience in product nonconformance dispositions - MRB and product First Article review and approval is a plus
• Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Standard requirements

Working Conditions

• Climate-controlled office environment
• The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and safety shoes are required
• Less than 10% travel
