Job summary

Pond & Company is seeking an experienced Engineering Technical Manager to lead the Aviation Fuels team on complex mechanical and petroleum infrastructure projects. The role combines technical leadership with client relationship management and mentorship of engineers across DoD, federal, and airport programs.

The position supports remote work with occasional travel to airports and Pond offices (GA/TX/CO/FL) and requires a strong background in fuel facilities, tank farms, hydrant systems,

Qualifications

• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience leading aviation fueling, petroleum infrastructure projects and related systems.
• Ability to mentor engineers and manage client relationships across DoD, federal, and airport programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as mechanical/fuels technical lead for aviation fueling and petroleum infrastructure projects.
• Develop fuel-facility assessments, basis-of-design documents, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Lead coordination of tank farms, hydrant systems, pipelines, pumps, filtration systems, and controls.
• Plan and manage projects from initiation through closeout, including scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client communications.
• Produce and maintain project deliverables including calculations, drawings, specs, and commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate interfaces with civil, structural, electrical, controls, environmental, construction, and client teams.
• Support business development and project pursuits with AFCEC, USACE, NAVFAC, DLA, FAA, and airport authorities.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, reviewing engineering deliverables.
• Support construction administration, testing, flushing, commissioning, and startup activities.
