Position: Fiber Optic Instructor – Basic Function

Instruct, update course materials, and maintain proficiency in fiber optic courses, primarily focusing on Aviation Fiber Optic training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain qualification to instruct NAVSEA Certified training in accordance with NAVSEA STD Item 009-123 and MIL-STD 1678 Requirement 1306.
• Ensure students have proper tools and materials.
• Ensure test equipment and peripherals are operational and available.
• Maintain a valid passport and be available to travel domestically and internationally.
• Meet performance goals and assist in developing marketing strategies.
• Develop and update training courses and materials.
• Maintain ETA Test Administrator certification.
• Review student critiques and address training deficiencies.
• Evaluate new training opportunities and submit weekly reports.
• Qualify to instruct all KITCO aviation and NAVSEA courses.
• Develop customer quotes, make visits, and assist with Field Services and SRC Department as needed.

Additional Requirements

• Operate standard office equipment and computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Travel approximately 25-30%, both domestically and internationally.
• Hold a clean driving record and passport.
• Educational background: Associate of Science Degree and/or NEC 9502 with at least 1 year of teaching or 5 years of fiber optic experience.
• Experience: At least 3 years in aviation, military instructor experience, or 5 years in fiber optics with teaching responsibilities.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD, NEC, EIA/TIA, ETA standards, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances and a CAC card.
