Job summary

State of Nevada seeks a Maintenance Repair Specialist 1 for the Reno-Tahoe International Airport site, performing skilled maintenance across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and equipment mechanics. Duties include preventive maintenance, documentation, and installation tasks across multiple facilities.

Incumbents work under supervision of a facility supervisor or division head, plan and estimate project costs, and complete repairs independently on varied building and mechanical

Qualifications

• Four years of progressively responsible experience in two or more major building or mechanical trades, including repair and maintenance tasks.
• Experience laying out jobs and ordering materials, or an equivalent education/experience combination.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled plumbing to maintain, repair, and modify systems and fixtures; review blueprints and determine best modification method.
• Perform skilled carpentry to construct, repair, and modify facilities and woodwork; lay out projects and purchase materials.
• Perform skilled electrical work including wiring, fixtures, and equipment; troubleshoot motors, generators, and controls.
• Perform skilled painting to prepare surfaces and apply paint or coatings; finish furniture and surfaces as needed.
• Perform machinery/mechanical work including repair of carburetors, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulic systems.
• May supervise semi-skilled staff; maintain equipment and facility records and prepare related reports.
