Job summary

KLJ seeks an experienced aviation engineer to design and support due diligence, permitting, and construction of airport facilities. The role involves collecting data from surveys and GIS, applying FAA standards, and coordinating with regulators to ensure safe, compliant design solutions.

You will contribute to concept development, modeling, and project documentation while collaborating with cross-functional teams on landside and airside projects.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related field.
  • Professional Engineer License is required.
  • Experience with FAA advisory circulars and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data from site, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and other matrices for project development.
  • Perform aviation engineering work and assist with investigations of site conditions for permitting and design.
  • Collaborate with engineers, planners, and professionals to ensure safety and functionality of aviation facilities.
  • Prepare technical reports, data visualizations, and design specifications.
  • Assist with environmental, drainage, and HASP planning and implementation.
  • Support development and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects.
  • Coordinate with regulators and ensure compliance with aviation construction laws.
