Juneau International Airport (JNU) is seeking a Long-Term Temporary Mechanic II to service and repair automotive and heavy equipment used in the airfield fleet, with duties including diagnosing failures and maintaining logs. Qualifications

Three (3) years of experience in automotive, construction/heavy equipment, truck, or transit bus repair and maintenance as appropriate to specific position.
Post-secondary education or technical training in automotive work may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of 125 clock hours of instruction for one month of experience up to a maximum of twenty-four months.
The Service Technician II LTT position requires a valid State of Alaska Driver's License at time of application; A valid Class “A” CDL with airbrake and passenger endorsements may be required within nine months.

Responsibilities

Servicing, repair, and maintenance of automotive and heavy equipment for the Juneau International Airport.
Remove, replace, clean and examine mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic parts, components and subassemblies.
Perform diagnoses of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic failures, and determines cause of unusual noises.
Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, fluid level checks, and lubrications according to manufacturer’s or Airport’s recommended schedule.
Operate snow removal equipment and perform other duties as required.
