Job summary

WGI seeks a Design Manager for the Buildings Division in our Tampa, FL office to lead aviation projects and drive business development. You will guide multidisciplinary design teams, ensure design quality, and manage client relationships to deliver high-performance facilities.

The ideal candidate is a licensed architect with airport experience, NCARB with reciprocity, and a proven BD track record. Travel may be required as we expand aviation capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
• Registered Architect (RA) with NCARB certification for reciprocal licensure.
• Minimum 12-15 years of professional tenure with aviation project experience.
• Proven track record of business development and client management within aviation.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Existing relationships with airport authorities and aviation stakeholders preferred.
• Experience leading complex aviation projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of airport operations and FAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Principal-in-Charge or Project Executive for aviation projects.
• Lead governance, scope, risk, and executive reporting.
• Provide senior leadership in programming, planning, and design for aviation facilities.
• Direct multidisciplinary design teams to meet project goals and standards.
• Mentor project managers and senior staff in leadership and delivery.
• Oversee budget, schedule, and client satisfaction for delivery.
• Guide compliance with FAA, TSA, ADA, and local regulations.
• Develop and execute market strategies to grow aviation business.
• Represent the firm at industry events and in client relations.
