Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced aviation design engineer to join our Transportation team in Alaska, with a role that may be based in Anchorage, Fairbanks or Wasilla. You will lead airport engineering and planning projects for commercial service and general aviation airports, acting as engineer of record and project manager.

Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree, Alaska Civil PE license, 7+ years of professional experience, and proficiency with FAA design standards and AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge and application of FAA design standards and specifications.
• Proficiency in design of aviation/civil engineering projects including alignments, profiles, typical sections, site grading and drainage.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical specialist and consultant to the transportation engineering discipline on aviation projects.
• Prepare reports, develop design elements including plans, specs, and estimates.
• Mentor junior staff in technical design elements and project documents.
• Recent experience developing aviation projects for the State of Alaska is desired.
