Astronautics Corporation of America is seeking a Data Security Engineer to join our team protecting the cybersecurity needs of FAA, civilian, and military programs. You will work with avionics design engineers to develop cyber-resilient products and contribute to risk assessment and controls.

The role emphasizes applying NIST controls, participating in industry groups, and supporting certification efforts. U.S. government program experience and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Software or Systems Preferred) or Computer Science.
  • Demonstrated systems thinking skills; ability to see how changes affect the whole system.
  • Working knowledge of Cross Domain Solution.
  • Experience with Linux OS and scripting.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate cybersecurity risk methodologies for avionics systems.
  • Perform cybersecurity risk/safety assessments on aviation related systems, including analysis, testing, and mitigation.
  • Develop cybersecurity requirements and controls; support risk mitigation plans and certification efforts.
  • Support design and development of cybersecurity architecture and documentation.
  • Apply NIST controls and STIGs to system design and implementation.
  • Participate in aerospace cybersecurity groups, industry forums, and working groups.
