Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking an intern for its Aviation Civil Engineering discipline to support design development, data collection, and field observations.

The role involves preparing construction documents, performing calculations, and using AutoCAD/Civil3D and GIS tools. Applicants should be actively enrolled in an ABET-accredited civil engineering program, preferably having completed a junior year and more than 60 applicable credits.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in an ABET-accredited civil engineering program.
• Completed junior year and currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university, with coursework related to the position.
• Those who have completed more than 60 hours of relevant coursework and strong prior experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Design development and preparation of construction documents (plans and material specifications), and related cost estimates.
• Collecting and assembling data for engineering or environmental reports and studies.
• Performing calculations or reports related to surveying, geotechnical testing, and pipe inspections.
• Utilizing AutoCAD and Civil3D and related applications for drainage, culvert design, and pipe flow.
• Conducting field investigations and survey assistance to gather site-specific data.
• Documenting and observing construction operations.
• Writing memoranda, letters, or general reports; maintaining records; attending meetings; operating technical equipment.
