Job summary

Mead & Hunt in Portland, OR is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our Aviation group. You will design aviation civil projects such as taxiways, aprons, and runways, while gaining hands-on field experience observing construction progress.

The role supports engineering design in the office, travels to project sites about 50-75% of the time, collaborates with project teams, and builds relationships with clients. A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required and EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
• EIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designing aviation civil engineering projects, which include taxiways, aprons, runways, and others.
• Assisting with analysis and preparation of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects.
• Performing QA/QC tasks including performing design reviews.
• Assisting with development of construction cost estimates for various projects.
• Visiting project sites to monitor progress and perform other duties per the contract documents.
• May serve as onsite project representative – days or nights.
• May assist with client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
• May attend client meetings.
• Other tasks as assigned.
