Job summary

First Class Air Company in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Buyer to source, negotiate, and purchase aircraft parts, materials, tooling, and services for ongoing MRO operations.

You will issue purchase orders, monitor orders, and collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure material availability while controlling costs. Strong ERP/MRP experience and Excel proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 2+ years of purchasing, planning, or supply chain experience, preferably in aviation/MRO.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and purchase aircraft parts, materials, tooling, and services.
• Issue purchase orders, track order status, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and lead times to support cost reduction.
• Maintain safety stock to support operations while minimizing excess inventory.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and operations to align material availability.
• Monitor inventory turns, shortages, and obsolescence risks.
• Standardize shipping carriers to maximize service while minimizing costs.
• Ensure all purchased materials meet FAA, EASA, and company quality standards.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory data within ERP systems.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, supplier consolidation, and cost savings.
• Support audits and regulatory inspections as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
