Job summary

Garmin is seeking a Software Engineer 1 - Aviation Backend Web in our U.S. Chanhassen, MN office. You will build upon existing software to develop basic backend solutions for Garmin products and applications.

Responsibilities include designing and developing software using C, C++, C#, Java, assembly, or Python; debugging and testing; and contributing to on-call support on a rotating schedule to support Garmin's 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong academic record (GPA ≥ 3.0 typically).
• Experience or training in basic software development with C++, Linux, Python or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new product/application software or maintain existing ones using C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
• Troubleshoot issues, reproduce, evaluate causes, and implement/ test fixes.
• Identify and resolve defects of basic scope with standard tools (debuggers, emulators, simulators).
• Document designs using standard engineering practices.
