Job summary

Garmin is seeking a Software Engineer 1 - Aviation Core Java at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. You will build upon existing software to develop basic software for Garmin products and applications.

You will design and develop software in Java or other languages, troubleshoot issues, and resolve defects. The role includes applying design standards and supporting rotating on-call duties for Garmin’s 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in CS/Engineering/related field.
• GPA 3.0 or higher as a general rule.
• Knowledge or experience to develop basic software in Java or other languages.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops new product/application software using Java or other selected languages.
• Troubleshoots basic issue reports, reproduces issues, evaluates cause, tests solutions.
