Job summary

STS Technical Services is seeking Aircraft Assembly Technicians in Melbourne, Florida. You will perform a broad range of assembly and repair tasks on electronic and mechanical components, subassemblies, and structures, ensuring airworthiness per FAA and OEM data.

The role requires 2-4 years in assembly or related aviation disciplines, with eyes for detail, blueprint literacy, and proficiency with hand tools and jigs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A&P and mechanical/electrical experience a plus.
• 2-4 years of experience in assembly, mechanical, electrical, or aircraft structures.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) within assigned technical area.

Responsibilities

• Perform repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
• Work from diagrams, drawings, and layouts using hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
• Conduct continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
• Perform quality inspections on processing lines in accordance with quality specifications.
• Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies as needed.
• Follow approved assembly procedures for components or aircraft structures in accordance with FAA-approved documentation, OEM technical data, and work package instructions.
• Align subassemblies using jigs or fixtures and measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points.
• Inspect completed work for rework needs and ensure all repairs meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
• Perform serviceability tests utilizing technical manual-specified equipment.
• Complete all FAA and repair station documentation accurately.
• Submit completed work to Quality Assurance for final or in-progress inspection and certification of airworthiness.
