Goodwyn Mills Cawood LLC (GMC) is seeking an Aviation Architect to join our growing aviation practice. Lead regional airport projects, collaborate with engineers, and guide designs from concept through construction.

You will help define the aviation practice’s direction and growth while solving real-world airport challenges. You will work closely with clients and multiple engineering disciplines, contributing to a hands-on, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• A professional degree in Architecture.
• Architectural licensure, or a clear path toward licensure.
• 5+ years of architectural experience.
• Experience taking projects through multiple phases of design and documentation.
• Strong Revit and/or AutoCAD skills.
• An understanding of building codes, accessibility requirements, and construction documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers and other disciplines.
• The ability to manage your own work while contributing to a larger project team.
• An interest in working directly with clients and helping develop new opportunities.
• A practical, collaborative approach to design and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design for regional airport projects and related facilities.
• Collaborate with aviation engineers and other disciplines to develop coordinated solutions.
• Drive projects from early planning through design, permitting, bidding and construction administration.
• Develop concepts, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Participate in client meetings and translate airport needs into buildable solutions.
• Understand FAA, airport, building code, accessibility and related requirements.
• Visit project sites and work with owners, contractors and consultants.
• Identify opportunities with existing and prospective aviation clients.
• Contribute to growth of the aviation practice beyond executing won work.
