Job summary

VSE Aviation is seeking an Aviation Accessory Technician to perform maintenance and alteration tasks on civil aviation articles following current technical data and FAA standards.

The role requires 2+ years of technical experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read technical manuals and engineering drawings. Candidates must be able to use precision measuring tools and laser-based data plate generation.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of relevant/technical work experience.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, hand tools, and test equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
  • High Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, CMMs, and engineering drawings.
  • Basic computer operating skills.
  • Flexible to changing workloads/priorities based on customer requirements.
  • Must read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble limited fuel controls, or limited governors, or all fuel, oil, or air accessories.
  • Test limited fuel, oil, or air accessories (Excluding fuel controls and governors) on provided testing benches.
  • Utilize hand tools and specialty tools for precision measurements daily.
  • Read and interpret technical data and drawings.
  • Generate data plates for components completed with use of a laser system.
  • Troubleshoot components failing test or set up to determine root cause of failure.
  • Work closely with quality assurance and engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Document maintenance records of all repair work orders performed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Overview

The Aviation Accessory Technician will perform maintenance and alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Service Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.

Responsibilities
