The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for the Avian Medicine and Pathology Residency (Post-Doctoral Scholar) in the Animal Diagnostic Laboratory, University Park, PA. This full-time 48-week residency is renewable up to 2 years and targets ACPV board eligibility, with supervision by two avian pathologists and exposure to diverse diagnostic sections.

Responsibilities include necropsy work, teaching, rounds, field visits, and research dissemination.

Formación

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an AVMA-accredited college/university.
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in 1 or more US state(s).
• Interest in avian medicine and pathology.

Responsabilidades

• Perform gross and histopathologic examinations on avian necropsy cases and write necropsy reports.
• Consult with submitting veterinarians and clients; participate in weekly rounds.
• Assist with undergraduate and veterinary extern instruction and collaborative research.
• Participate in field visits to flocks, hatcheries, and processing plants with poultry veterinarians.
• Present case reports or research findings at scientific meetings and submit papers to peer‑reviewed journals.
