Hiring Range: (Contingent upon available funding): 17.50 - 23.00, Hourly

Work Schedule: M-F 8-5 with some nights and weekends

Job Summary: The Audiovisual Technician II is responsible for keeping activities and tasks moving by assisting the Control Room Audio-Visual Coordinator as necessary to properly support the OSU campus AV classrooms, ticket system, and departmental inventory. This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining standard operational procedure documentation. This position will oversee the Control Room operations in the absence of the Control Room Audio Visual Coordinator. This position will perform problem solving and troubleshooting for managed systems and perform diagnosis of unexpected systems failures, performance degradation, and user reported incidents. Responsibilities may include direct installation of multiple types of communications cabling, enclosures, and hardware associated with television broadcast video and audio media, and system integration of equipment.

Education & Experience

Required Qualifications:

  1. High School/GED
  2. One year experience in operations, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation and design of multimedia and/or broadcast systems or other related fields.
  3. The candidate for this position should have the ability to think logically and clearly regarding audio video technologies to include classroom technology and/or broadcast technology.
  4. The candidate should also be able to perform basic tasks on multiple OS platforms to include MAC OS, Microsoft OS, and associated Microsoft applications.
  5. The candidate should have some knowledge of AV Systems and/or broadcast workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or broadcasting.
  2. Two years’ experience in operations, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation and design of multimedia and broadcast systems.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Ability to develop new ideas while understanding the implications of technical and logistical factors.
  5. Requires complex and original thinking.
  6. Some knowledge of Crestron hardware/software a plus.
  7. Some knowledge of broadcast production workflows a plus.
