CMU's Computing Services department is searching for a AV Sr. Departmental TEF Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. This position is responsible for setting up, managing, and maintaining audio-visual equipment supporting university events on and off campus, including resident equipment associated with technology-enhanced facilities. Ensure all audio-visual presentations and equipment are correctly configured, set up, operate smoothly, and are properly stored after use. The role involves fulfilling orders for event services, and may include temporary installation, maintenance, and repair of AV equipment, as well as supporting live presentations, distance learning, and AV conferencing. The technician will work with university faculty, staff, students, outside vendors, and contractors.
Maintain inventory and inspect departmental equipment; locate and retrieve missing items; recommend purchases for replacements or additions.
Film video productions (may be required).
Train or instruct students, staff, or faculty on AV equipment operation; troubleshoot user issues.
Deliver, set up, operate, and retrieve AV equipment for university events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
