Job Description
Our client is a trailblazing company specializing in technical consulting, design, and programming services for show control and the entertainment industry. Since 2015, they have been at the forefront of developing and manufacturing innovative platforms for audiovisual system monitoring and management. The position is based in Orlando, United States, with 2 days in the office per week.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in project design meetings with clients, conduct site surveys, and create detailed assessment reports.
- Analyze user needs and requirements to ensure design feasibility within time and cost constraints.
- Develop comprehensive AV and Control design packages, including concept diagrams, system CAD drawings, design narratives, programming specifications, performance specifications, and budget estimates for each project phase.
- Coordinate technical design solutions with clients, installation teams, and creative teams.
- Provide technical oversight during system integration and commissioning, including network implementation, system configuration, and as-built drawings.
- Assist programmers with technical direction in developing user interfaces and control programs.
- Support account executives in preparing bids and submittals.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of network design for AV systems, including routing, VLANs, QoS, IGMP, and PTP.
- Proficiency in control system architecture, programming, and testing for platforms such as Medialon, Q-SYS, Node-Red, and Crestron.
- Knowledge of programming/scripting languages like Lua and JavaScript is a plus.
- Experience with audio/video processing systems such as Q-SYS, Barco E2, and Analog Way Aquilon.
- Familiarity with media servers (e.g., Pixera, 7th Sense, Disguise, Green Hippo, Watchout) and generative engines (e.g., Touch Designer, Notch, Unreal).
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux OS.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Vectorworks; familiarity with MS Visio or OmniGraffle is desired.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Ability to write scope of work, design narratives, and technical documents.
- Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to establish professional relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; self-driven and proactive.
Training / Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of experience in the AV industry; certifications like CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D are a plus.
- English language proficiency is mandatory.
