Role Description

The AV Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Salt Lake City, UT. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing audio-visual and low-voltage systems at client locations, ensuring equipment functions reliably and efficiently. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing system issues, performing troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, and handling field service calls in a timely and professional manner. The AV Service Technician will interact directly with clients, provide clear status updates, offer basic user training when needed, and collaborate with internal teams to complete service tickets and projects. The role requires consistent documentation of work performed, adherence to safety standards, and readiness to support occasional after-hours or emergency service needs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in Maintenance & Repair and general Maintenance for audio-visual and low-voltage systems.
• Strong Troubleshooting abilities for technical issues, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, cabling, and connectivity problems.
• Experience in Field Service, including on-site installations, service calls, and system upgrades.
• Solid Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and maintain professional client relationships.
• Basic understanding of AV signal flow, low-voltage wiring standards, and use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, such as wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation guides.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to work on-site in various client environments.
• Comfort with lifting equipment, working on ladders, and performing tasks that may require manual dexterity and physical stamina.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in AV, electronics, or low-voltage systems are a plus.
• Prior experience in audio-visual, telecommunications, or related technical service fields preferred but not required for motivated learners.
