Job summary

AVI-SPL, Inc. is seeking a Programmer to develop and modify control system software for integrated Audio Video Systems. You will convert requirements into functional interfaces and control code, collaborate with stakeholders, and install programs and touch panels onsite, offsite, and remotely.

The role includes reviewing the work of Associate Programmers and mentoring staff, with travel to various job sites. Strong knowledge of AV technology and programming languages is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience as an AVI-SPL Associate Programmer or three years similar experience outside of AVI-SPL.
  • Proficient with test and calibration equipment and programming languages.
  • Proficient in uploading and downloading software in embedded systems.
  • Proficient in control system design (Crestron, AMX, Extron, QSC).
  • Solid communication skills with employees, clients and colleagues, and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to diagnose and test complex system problems.
  • Advanced computer skills for design, configuration and operations of AV equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under changing priorities.
  • Understanding of computer networking and troubleshooting.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Crestron CTI-P201 or AMX Control Programmer Associate or equivalent.
  • Crestron Technician Fundamentals (CTI-CTF) or equivalent.
  • AVIXA Essentials of AV Technology or equivalent.

Responsibilities

You will also install control programs and touch panel design onsite, offsite, and remotely. In addition, a Programmer is expected to review and validate the work of an Associate Programmer.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret AV systems drawings.
  • Gather programming requirements.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Must-Haves:

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.

Employees operating company or personal vehicles for business purposes must be legally authorized to drive, maintain a valid driver’s license and provide proof of coverage, meeting all minimum required insurance coverage as a condition of employment.

Employees driving fleet vehicles must meet eligibility requirements; comply with all guidelines, including telematics monitoring, vehicle maintenance schedules, proper use of assigned fuel and toll devices.

Nice-To-Haves:

  • Formal education in Electronics, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • CTS (Certified Technology Specialist).
  • Experience with C#, JavaScript, Lua, Python, HTML-5, PowerShell, Git version control.
  • Experience with Enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco WebEx etc.) – both hardware and software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.

Frequent verbal communication and presentations.

Frequent use of computers and mobile devices.

Travel may be required.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Office and client-site environments.
