Job summary

Vanderbilt University is seeking a Production Services Technician-General Tech (Flex) to deliver high-level AV support for events across Student Centers and related spaces. This on-site role handles a variety of events, from meetings to performances, with hours fluctuating between 25-30 during peak weeks and 0-10 during slow weeks.

The role requires experience with AV systems, live mixing, and equipment maintenance, and reports to the Associate Director, Production Services.

Qualifications

• One year or more of AV event experience.
• 3+ years of related work experience is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the AV and production needs for Vanderbilt University and community events.
• Operate Yamaha and Behringer/Midas audio consoles and mix for diverse events.
• Familiarize with DMX-based fixtures and video projection gear.
• Attend pre-production meetings to review cues and scripts.
• Coordinate event production with departments and external groups.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment used in events and spaces.
