Job summary

American Sound is seeking an AV Field Engineer to join our Phoenix team. The role focuses on pre-install quality control, configuration, and post-install commissioning, with travel as needed. You will ensure systems meet specs in lab and field, and provide end-user training.

The candidate brings 3+ years in AV installation/commissioning, strong knowledge of QSC/Crestron/Extron, and reporting skills to keep projects on track. This is an on-site, full-time position in Phoenix, AZ.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in AV installation and commissioning.
• CTS/CTS-I preferred.
• Strong knowledge of QSC, Crestron and Extron systems.
• Programming knowledge and certifications a plus.
• Advanced networking knowledge a plus.
• Experience with audio tuning, EQ, and DSP programming.
• Strong daily reporting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Configuration and post-install commissioning of AV systems.
• Report progress and timelines to project managers and team.
• Verify wiring, terminations, and lab/field configurations against drawings.
• Support loading, testing, and documenting DSP builds and touch panels.
• Perform end-user training on AV systems.
• Suggest improvements to configuration processes.

We are seeking an AV Field Engineer to join our Phoenix team in the growing market. The AV Field Engineer specializes in pre-install quality control and configuration as well as post-installation commissioning and system stand-up. This position requires travel as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Pre-Configuration and Post-Install commissioning of various AV Systems
• Report daily on where timelines & tasks are to Project Managers and team
• Verify systems integration wiring connectivity and terminations in the lab
• Assist and verify system wiring and terminations meet specifications/drawings in lab
• Analyze and resolve configuration issues pre-install (lab) and post-install
• Work with programming team to provide support in loading, testing, and documenting results of pre-built customized control programs, touch panel files, and DSP builds
• Assist and verify system wiring and terminations meet specifications/drawings in field
• Complete final configuration, testing, and commissioning of AV systems
• Perform end-user training on AV Systems
• Review and recommend changes to existing configuration processes

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years' experience in AV Installation and Commissioning
• AVIXA CTS & CTS-I Preferred
• Excellent working knowledge of QSC, Crestron, and Extron systems required
• Programming Knowledge and certifications is a plus
• Advanced Networking knowledge and certifications is a plus
• Experience with Audio tuning, equalization, and DSP programming
• Strong communication skills with daily reporting of tasks

Job Compensation and Details:

• Pay- $40-45/hr with potential bonus at year end
• Shift Time and Days- 6am -2:30pm, M-F with rare off hours
