Job summary

Visual Sound Inc in Broomall, PA is seeking an AV Field Engineer focused on commissioning and ongoing maintenance of electronic audio-visual systems at client sites. You will troubleshoot, reinstall, and optimize setups to minimize downtime and maximize performance.

The role involves field commissioning, coordinating with the Installation and AV Integration teams, creating user guides, and training end users. Some travel to client sites and occasional out-of-town trips are required.

Qualifications

• Formal education in electronics or a related field.
• Minimum two years of AV experience.
• Experience with enterprise VC solutions (video conferencing hardware and software).
• CTS not required but AVIXA CTS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Field commissioning of AV systems and related duties.
• Communicate system performance to customer and Installation Dept.
• Perform final commissioning of AV equipment (DSPs, CODECs, switchers, controllers).
• Assist Operations team with installation and commissioning.
• Create user guides and train end users on AV controls.
• Improve workflows and recommend better processes.
• Coordinate with Installation Manager and AV Integration Manager.
• Maintain documentation and organize tools and company vehicle.
• Travel to client sites and occasional out-of-town trips.

AV Field Engineer

Visual Sound is seeking a skilled AV Field Engineer (Commissioning) for our Corporate Office in Broomall, PA. This role is accountable for troubleshooting, re-installation and maintenance of electronic audio/visual equipment, installing and servicing the systems in the most efficient and effective manner to assure minimum down time and maximum performance.

Responsibilities

• Field Commissioning of AV Systems and other Engineering related duties.
• Communicating system performance to the customer and to the Installation Department.
• Final commissioning of audio-visual equipment, including, but not limited to audio DSPs, CODECs, switchers, control systems, VTC systems, and video processors.
• Assisting the Technical Operations team performing installation and system commissioning work as needed.
• Creating user guides and train end users on how to use their A/V control systems.
• Refining current processes, developing better workflows, and making educated recommendations.
• Working closely with the Installation Manager and the Manager of AV Integration to ensure a professional and safe working environment.
• Maintaining clear communication, documentation and organization of paperwork, tools and company vehicle.
• Traveling to client sites and occasional out of town travel.

Position Requirements

• Formal education in Electronics or related field.
• Minimum two years of AV experience.
• A four-year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience
• Experience with Enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Bluejeans, Cisco Telepresence etc.) both hardware and software
• AVIXA General CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) is preferred.
