Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is hiring an AV Engineer to design and implement AV solutions, create drawing packages, and support an office team, with occasional installation assistance in the McLean, Virginia area and potential relocation to Stuttgart, Germany.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's in engineering and 5+ years' experience, familiarity with IT/telecom/A-V gear, and proficiency with AutoCAD; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5+ years' experience or Master's degree in engineering.
• Developing and implementing hardware and software solutions for data center and virtual infrastructure technologies.
• Experience with cost estimates and work breakdown structures for complex projects.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Familiarity with IT, telecommunications, A/V and electrical equipment and related materials.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Creating drawing packages and BOMs in CAD for AV projects.
• Design and testing of videoconferencing and integrated AV technologies and collaboration systems.
• Design of audio/video systems using Crestron, AMX and Extron control systems.
• Conduct customer site surveys and provide sales engineering support.

Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is hiring a AV Engineer that will primarily support a team of engineers. The AV Engineer is responsible for preparing and performing AV Design solutions, participate in an office setting, and occasionally helping the installation team. This is a great opportunity in the Mclean, Virginia area, or relocation to Stuttgart, Germany. This role requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.

Responsibilities for the AV Engineer:

• Creating Drawing Packages and Bill of Materials in CAD
• Design and testing of complex videoconferencing and integrated audio/visual technologies and A/V based collaboration technologies
• Design of audio/video systems with Crestron, AMX and Extron control systems
• Conduct customer site surveys and provide sales engineering support

Required Qualifications for the AV Engineer:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 5+ years' OR Master's Degree in Engineering
• Developing and implementing hardware and software solutions for data center and virtual infrastructure technologies
• Demonstrated experience with developing cost estimates and work breakdown structures for the design and implementation of complex projects
• Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objective
• Familiarity with IT, telecommunications, A/V and electrical equipment including related materials and specifications
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar software

Compensation for the AV Engineer:

• Salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 *depending on experience*
