Job summary

AVWORX, a Security 101 Company, seeks an experienced AV Commissioning Specialist to lead final validation, testing, and turnover of integrated AV systems. You will ensure systems are fully functional, user-friendly, and ready for client acceptance with Barco, Datapath, VuWall, Crestron, and Q-SYS.

You will travel nationwide up to 75% to conduct on-site demonstrations, tests, and client trainings, delivering high-quality documentation and robust system performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years of direct experience commissioning commercial audiovisual systems.
• Strong experience with Crestron control systems and Q-SYS platforms.
• Hands-on experience with video wall processing technologies such as Barco, Datapath, VuWall.
• Experience with AV-over-IP including VLANs, multicast, and managed switches.
• Ability to read signal flow diagrams and technical drawings.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Commission and validate integrated AV systems including control and audio DSP.
• Configure and test systems using Crestron, Q-SYS, Barco, Datapath, and VuWall.
• Calibrate displays, video walls, and audio for consistent performance.
• Configure AV-over-IP networks including VLANs and multicast routing.
• Produce test reports, as-built drawings, and validation documents.
• Collaborate with programming teams on GUI functionality and UX.
• Conduct on-site demonstrations, acceptance testing, and turnover meetings.
• Provide end-user training remotely and on-site.
• Troubleshoot integration issues while maintaining schedules.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians.

AVWORX, a Security 101 Company, is seeking an experienced AV Commissioning Specialist to lead the final validation, testing, optimization, and turnover of integrated audiovisual systems. This role is responsible for ensuring that commercial AV solutions are fully functional, user-friendly, and ready for real-world operation before client acceptance.

The AV Commissioning Specialist will work with advanced technologies including Crestron control systems, QSC Q-SYS platforms, AV-over-IP solutions, and video wall processing technologies such as Barco, Datapath, and VuWall. This position serves as a key bridge between installation completion and project closeout, ensuring system reliability, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Salary and Benefits:

This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of $30-$60 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, certifications, and overall industry expertise. The Right Candidate:

• Commission and validate integrated AV systems including control systems, audio DSP platforms, networked AV, and video wall solutions.
• Configure, integrate, and test systems utilizing Crestron, QSC Q-SYS, Barco, Datapath, VuWall, and related AV technologies.
• Calibrate displays, video walls, and audio systems to ensure optimal performance and consistency across customer environments.
• Configure and verify AV-over-IP solutions, including VLANs, multicast routing, and managed network switch functionality.
• Produce commissioning documentation including test reports, as-built drawings, control system backups, configuration files, and validation reports.
• Collaborate with programming teams to verify GUI functionality, workflow performance, and user experience requirements.
• Conduct on-site client demonstrations, acceptance testing, system walkthroughs, and project turnover meetings.
• Provide end-user training and system orientation both remotely and on-site.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues while maintaining project schedules and quality standards.
• Partner with Project Managers, Engineers, Programmers, and Installation Technicians to ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide feedback regarding installation quality, design implementation, and overall system performance.
• Ensure final project documentation meets AVIXA standards and AVWORX best practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of four (4) years of direct experience commissioning commercial audiovisual systems.
• Strong experience with Crestron control systems and QSC Q-SYS platforms.
• Hands-on experience with one or more video wall processing technologies including Barco, Datapath, VuWall, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of AV-over-IP technologies, including VLANs, multicast environments, and managed network switches such as Cisco and Netgear.
• Ability to read and interpret signal flow diagrams, wiring schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Certifications:

• Crestron Technician or Programmer Certification.
• Q-SYS Level 2 Certification or higher.
• Manufacturer certifications from Barco, Datapath, VuWall, or other video wall processing platforms.
• Experience with mission-critical, government, enterprise, command-and-control, or control room environments is a plus.

Travel:

• Nationwide travel required approximately 50% to 75% of the time.
• AVWORX will provide hotel accommodation and approved travel expenses when overnight travel is necessary.
• Employees will receive per diem compensation in accordance with the company's current travel policy when required to stay overnight on company business.
