Job Description – AV BUILD TECHNICIAN (AV, Network and Related Residential Automation). We are a Bay Area–based team focused on designing, building and supporting bespoke home environments for an up-market client base. At this time, we’re seeking an AV Build Technician who will readily slide into the role with confidence. Your affinity for electronics and technology must coincide with a career built on tradecraft and conscientiousness. From day one, you’ll present yourself confidently to other trades as well as homeowners in the daily course of your work. This role requires 5 to 8 years of AV experience, as your contributions will be integral to the success of all projects. You’ll have full support of the team and will be provided with the resources and tool stack needed to perform your work effectively. We will continue to iterate operational expectations and procedures to bolster the team efficiency, and your input will be considered in the process.
Responsibilities
- Absorb the design intent and understanding of the client’s expectations for project completion, then work backwards to achieve it in a timely manner.
- Daily communication with the project team to evaluate progress and plan accordingly.
- Maintain familiarity with the scope of work and project documentation that guides coordination with other team members and trades.
- Implement the specified systems: onsite work, cabling, installation, testing, configuration.
- Field onsite coordination requirements and document dispute/resolution in project documentation.
- Prepare materials needed for upcoming work.
- Maintain project documentation accuracy (Asana ongoing task updates) on a daily basis.
- Complete the physical scope of the project, including commissioning and punch list items.
- Juggle small service and support requests between larger project schedules.
- Attend and contribute to regular production meetings.
Qualifications
- Documented experience in all mandatory skills above, and conversational familiarity with all desired skills.
- Industry certification from AVIXA, CEDIA, and/or 8 years in the industry with 5 years in a similar role.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to manage your own time and workload effectively.
- Maintains professionalism both internally and externally.
- Clean driver’s license.
Schedule
- Condensed work week
- Monday - Thursday, 40 hour work week. Overtime, when needed/authorized. While 40 hours aren’t guaranteed, we don\'t sit on the bench often, if ever.
