Job summary

HEDSouth is seeking an AV Apprentice Technician in Hollywood, FL to learn install, troubleshoot, and maintain low-voltage systems in commercial and residential settings. You will work in the Technician department, under the guidance of Robert, VP of Production & Engineering, and support projects with a hands-on, field-focused approach.

This entry-level role offers 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:00pm, with benefits including 401k match and medical/dental/vision coverage.

Responsibilities

• Pull/Terminate/Test Low-Voltage Cabling (Category, Fiber, Speaker, Lutron).
• Mount devices at the ends of those wires (AV/Network/Control/Lighting/Shading).
• Build and lace equipment racks.
• Setup and configure devices.
• Understand networks.
• Troubleshoot devices.
• Eventually program (Lutron/C4/Savant/Crestron).

Description

HEDSouth is seeking an aspiring Low-Voltage Technician to join our team. You will be learn how to install, troubleshoot, and maintain low-voltage systems in commercial and residential settings. Once we get our hands on you, you will be able to ensure that installations are completed on time, on budget, and to the satisfaction of our clients!

You Are:

• A trustworthy individual. Hungry to learn and grow. Hands-on and love being in the field as opposed to being behind a desk. Technically inclined and always curious how things work.

Your Location:

• In-Person (Not Remote or Hybrid)

Your Schedule:

• Hours Per Week: 40 Hours Per Week
• Days Per Week: Monday to Friday (7:30am-5:00pm)

Requirements:

• An Interest in Commercial and/or Residential AV & Low-Voltage (Wiring & Installation)
• Familiarity with networking
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
