Security Clearance

Applicant must hold or be able to obtain an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance.

Responsibilities
  • The ideal Candidate must have experience with Navy sustainment, modernization and maintenance programs. Experience in systems engineering, lifecycle support, modernization processes, training development and maintenance strategies is preferred. The candidate must hold a degree in engineering with Naval or Marine focuses preferred. This position will be hybrid in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
  • Conduct technical efforts including analyzing reliability, maintainability, and availability data for sustainment and modernization of ship systems
  • Participate in development and performance of test and evaluation plans, develop and implement science and technology and SBIR efforts for HM&E and C5I systems.
  • Provide senior-level guidance to lower and mid-level contractor team members.
  • Conduct in-service ship design reviews and engineering activities; and special studies related to ships/boats/craft, ship systems and/or shipboard equipment.
  • Provide naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical engineering and in-depth systems engineering support for the Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E); Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat & Intelligence (C5I); and mission equipment and systems installed aboard ships, boats, craft and targets.
  • The employee shall work with senior program personnel and other stakeholders.
Experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience supporting the US Navy or Shipyard.
  • Experience in Navy Ship programs is required.
  • Experience with engineering changes and modifications to Navy ships.
  • Familiarization in ship lifecycle sustainment and modernization principles
  • DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process); DoD/DoN contracting; experience communicating with SES/Flag level personnel; Navy procedures and processes is desired.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Professional Engineering Certification Preferred.
  • Membership to Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) or American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) is preferred
