Job summary

Reworld is seeking an Auxiliary Operator to join our facility control room team. You will operate and inspect power plant systems to support safe, efficient industrial disposal processes.

Responsibilities include monitoring boilers and pollution control equipment, reading meters, sampling waters, and safely handling heavy equipment on rotating shifts to maintain continuous operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2-3 years’ experience operating heavy industrial equipment.
  • MA 1C/2C Hoisting License required or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
  • 2nd MA Fireman license or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures (boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, heavy equipment).
  • Monitor and inspect boiler plant auxiliary equipment (pumps, motors, fans, dampers, compressors, valves, conveyors, turbines, electrical devices).
  • Read data from meters, gauges, and tools to identify trends or potential disruptions.
  • Monitor air pollution control equipment.
  • Perform material sampling and water chemistry testing as required.
  • Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment (cranes, skid steers, loaders, forklifts).
  • Maintain correct levels of refuse-fuel and ensure appropriate refuse mix in pits and areas.
  • Additional duties to ensure safe, efficient operations.

About The Role

As an Auxiliary Operator, you will work in collaboration with our facility control room to operate and inspect various power plant systems safely and efficiently to ensure the operational effectiveness of Reworld’s industrial disposal process.

Position Responsibilities
  • Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures, systems include, but are not exclusively limited to boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, and heavy industrial equipment
  • Monitor and inspect various boiler plant auxiliary equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators and electrical devices
  • Read and interpret data from meters, gauges, and industrial measuring tools to identify trends and/or potential equipment disruptions that impact facility operations
  • Monitor air pollution control equipment
  • Perform various types of material sampling, chemistry testing, and treatment of water, as required
  • Safely operat ve heavy industrial mobile equipment, such as: cranes, skid steers, loaders, and forklifts
  • Responsible to maintain correct levels of refuse-fuel in operations equipment, and ensure appropriate refuse mix in designated pits and areas of operations
  • Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations
Position Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience operating heavy industrial equipment
  • Must possess or be able to quickly obtain MA 1C/2C Hoisting License (refer to state of MA for license requirements)
  • Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule
  • 2nd MA Fireman license or higher preferred
Physical Demands of the Role
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
  • Consistently work in various weather conditions

Pay Transparency

Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $64,059.00 - $88,215.00
