Auxiliary Instructional Support Specialist.
ACCESS Services - STAR Academy:

Miami Dade College is seeking an Auxiliary Instructional Support Specialist to provide individualized classroom and supplemental academic support to students enrolled in STAR Academy. This position works closely with students, faculty, and staff to promote student engagement, persistence, retention, and successful program completion.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Provide specialized instructional support and monitor students' classroom progress throughout the semester.
  • Help students participate successfully in classroom discussions, assignments, and assessments.
  • Collaborate with faculty to identify curriculum adaptations and program modifications that address individual student needs.
  • Develop and facilitate enrichment activities and supplemental instruction.
  • Connect students with appropriate supportive services and document those services in student records.
  • Support the recruitment and retention of grant-program participants.
  • Maintain accurate student files, departmental logs, reports, and grant documentation in accordance with audit requirements.
  • Maintain instructional references and resources for student use.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Knowledge of student engagement, active-learning strategies, and training and education principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong customer service, public relations, interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, academic departments, and the community.
