Job summary

Brevard County in Florida's Medical Examiners Office seeks an experienced autopsy technician to assist the Medical Examiner in conducting autopsies and forensic procedures to determine causes of death. This is a permanent full-time role with a 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

schedule and may include overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates should have two years of relevant medical laboratory experience; additional education may substitute.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in a medical laboratory, autopsy room, hospital ward, mortuary, or a closely related field.
• Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Medical Examiner in autopsies and forensic procedures.
• Determine legal and medical causes of death.
• Work schedule may include overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
