Job summary

Amazon Leo is hiring a Software Development Engineer to help design and build cloud-native software for the Leo Autopilot mission in Redmond, WA. You will work with cross-functional teams to create scalable systems that meet mission goals while ensuring reliability and performance across space and ground assets.

Ideal candidates bring multiple years of professional software development, strong system design experience, and proficiency in Java or Python, with exposure to AWS.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design suitable software systems to fulfill mission needs with peer teams and customers.
• Develop cloud native software systems in Java and Python.
• Utilize AWS and other Amazon technologies to build highly-available services.
• Design and develop performant software systems meeting mission criteria and requirements.
• Help onboard and mentor new team members.
• Lead technical roadmap definition efforts and decide which features to build.
