Job summary

Skydio, the leading US drone company, is seeking a Research Intern to architect and implement autonomy algorithms that power its drones. You will work with a world-class team to push the boundaries of computer vision and deep learning in real products.

You will pair with core software developers, take ownership of impactful projects, and contribute to new features that enhance user experiences while analyzing performance across software and hardware stacks.

Qualifications

• High proficiency in C++ and/or Python and PyTorch.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for computer vision, deep learning, motion planning, dynamics and controls, 3D graphics, distributed systems, and tools/infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement computer vision and autonomy algorithms that run on Skydio drones.
• Collaborate with researchers and software teams to advance state-of-the-art capabilities.
• Prototype new features and assess feasibility for production, with a focus on rapid iteration.
• Characterize and quantify the performance of core software and hardware components.
