Shield AI’s Hivemind Solutions Test Department seeks an Engineer II (Software & Simulation Focus) to join our DC-based team, leading simulation-driven testing and automation for autonomy software.

You will build test frameworks, run regression tests, and collaborate with software and hardware teams to validate mission-critical performance while pursuing high-quality software engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 0 years with a Master’s or PhD.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience in robotics or small UAS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Ability to obtain SECRET clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated regression, integration, and system tests for Hivemind software.
• Identify, reproduce, and diagnose software issues with cross-functional teams.
• Create and execute test plans for autonomy software in simulated environments.
• Design and maintain simulation-based test frameworks validating behavior and performance.
• Build Python tools to automate testing, data processing, and analysis workflows.
• Develop test harnesses for SIL/HIL/VIL and simulation environments.
• Contribute to testing methodologies, metrics, and benchmarks.
• Support scaling and reliability of simulation infrastructure.
• Maintain detailed test documentation and traceability.
• Work with developers to integrate test coverage into CI/CD.
