Shield AI in the United States is seeking a Software Test & Automation Engineer (L2) to build automated tests and validation tooling for the ACP portfolio, spanning SIL/HIL/VIL environments. You will gain hands-on experience with autonomy software and robotics hardware while contributing to test frameworks and readiness assessments.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS/CE/AE or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Python programming experience from coursework, projects, or student teams.
• Interest in robotics, autonomy, aerospace, embedded systems, or software testing.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop Python-based automated tests and analysis tools for autonomy software validation.
• Support verification across simulation, SIL, HIL, VIL, and system environments.
• Build and improve regression, integration, functional, and performance tests.
• Analyze test results and assist with debugging software and integration issues.
• Create scripts/tools to reduce manual testing and improve repeatability.
• Contribute to software quality metrics, dashboards, and readiness reports.
• Assist with integrating automated tests into CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate with autonomy software, systems engineering, flight test, and integration teams.
• Participate in lab and hardware testing of autonomous systems and sensors.
