Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. (HII) Uncrewed Systems, part of the Mission Technologies division, seeks a software developer to design and build control software for unmanned systems and to integrate it with an autonomous mission-management capability.

Multiple experience levels are available. Candidates should have a BS in a related field, 5+ years in embedded C++/Python, Linux experience, and the ability to obtain a government clearance.

Qualifications

• BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Robotics Engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in embedded software programming in C++ and Python.
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
• Ability to function in a cross-functional team and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test and maintain autonomous software for unmanned systems.
• Coordinate with system, firmware, hardware and other engineering teams to implement high-quality software.
• Follow software development processes and best practices.
• Participate in all phases of product development as needed and review requirements and design.
