Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a dynamic software systems engineer to own an autonomy software component for the New Glenn program. You will work across controls, avionics, and operations to define software behaviors and ensure safe, reliable performance through rigorous data-driven testing.

You will decompose requirements, participate in verification and validation activities, and drive release readiness while collaborating with stakeholders to meet mission objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 5–8 years of experience with real-time or safety-critical software design, analysis, or testing.
• Experience with Python programming and model-based design concepts.
• Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Define autonomy software behaviors with cross-functional teams.
• Decompose design decisions into software requirements, verification, and validation.
• Support code reviews and validate software via simulation, HIL testing, and hardware testing.
• Develop data analysis pipelines for autonomy software.
• Assess autonomy changes for safety and performance and drive release readiness.
