Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Simulation Quality Automation Engineer in Irving, TX to develop automated tests for simulation platforms, digital twins, and autonomy workflows. You will build regression suites, integrate tests into CI/CD, and collaborate with software, scenario, rendering, robotics, and platform engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Typically 2+ years of software engineering, quality engineering, or test automation experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and reusable test utilities using Python, C++, or other relevant languages.
• Create unit, integration, system, regression, performance, reliability, SIL, and HIL tests for simulation platform components and workflows.
• Integrate automated simulation tests into CI/CD pipelines, build gates, packaging, artifact, and release workflows.
• Document test plans, procedures, results, defects, coverage, known limitations, and release recommendations.
