Job summary

Heven AeroTech is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer - Autonomy to develop and deploy ML and autonomy capabilities for uncrewed aircraft. You will integrate with flight-control, mission computers, and avionics, working across teams to take autonomy from development to flight test.

The role emphasizes production-quality C++/Python software, onboard compute optimization, and collaboration with platform engineers and flight test teams. A strong ML and robotics background is essential.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–5 years of ML or autonomy software experience on robotic/UAS platforms.
• Strong C++ and Python development skills, incl. Linux-based development and ML frameworks.
• Knowledge of perception, sensor integration, autonomous decision making or planning, real-time systems.
• English proficiency required for responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy ML and autonomy capabilities for uncrewed aircraft with onboard compute.
• Create mission-level autonomous behaviors using state machines, behavior trees, or planners.
• Develop perception capabilities including object detection, tracking, sensor fusion.
