Job summary

Aquent in Foster City, California, is seeking a hardware technician to support the build and maintenance of custom machines for software simulation. This role focuses on assembling hardware for Hardware-in-the-Loop testing and integrating vehicle system components within server racks.

You will work closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot, document work, and manage parts and cable harnesses. The position requires lifting 25–30 pounds and crawling/bending for low-ground wiring as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience building and diagnosing computer hardware and components.
• Familiarity with cable management and harnessing.

Responsibilities

• Support configurations and generations of test platforms for vehicle simulation.
• Assemble hardware for Hardware-in-the-Loop testing of software builds.
• Use off-the-shelf components to build robust computer systems.
• Integrate network and vehicle system components in server racks.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair test hardware.
• Build cable harnesses based on diagrams/drawings.
• Move equipment up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues.
• Create and track tickets for hardware problems, incidents, and changes.
