Job summary

Bedrock Robotics Inc. is hiring a Hydraulics System Engineer to own hydraulic and electro-hydraulic actuation for our autonomous construction platform.

You will characterize OEM hydraulics, design retrofit interfaces, and collaborate with controls, electrical, software, safety and supply chain teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable subsystems deployed in the field. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics or related field.
• 7+ years designing, integrating, or testing hydraulic/electro-hydraulic systems for mobile machinery.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 1219, hydraulic circuits, and pilot-operated valves.
• Experience with field deployment, testing, and safety analyses.

Responsibilities

• Hydraulic System Characterization: reverse‑engineer OEM circuits and produce ISO 1219 schematics.
• EH Actuation Design: retrofit interfaces for precise control while preserving manual operation.
• Component Selection & Sizing: specify valves, manifolds, hoses, sensors, and accumulators.
• Functional Safety: contribute to DFMEA/FTA and hazard analysis per ISO standards.
• Controls Collaboration: model valves and tune closed‑loop control with software teams.
• Routing & Packaging: define hose routing and manifold placement within tight spaces.
• Test & Validation: plan bench/on‑machine tests and root‑cause hydraulic issues.
• Prototype Build Support: plumbing, commissioning, and bleeding of prototype systems.
• Supplier & Vendor Management: engage hydraulic suppliers from RFQ to validation.
• Documentation & BOM: maintain schematics, BOMs, procedures through lifecycle.
