Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to research and develop autonomous systems for defense and commercial customers. You will advance computer vision, signal processing, and control techniques, building prototypes and documenting requirements for handoffs to other teams.

The role emphasizes Python-based software development, collaboration across engineering disciplines, and delivering robust AI solutions for programmatic milestones and demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field with 2 years of professional experience, or equivalent.
• Experience building ML/AI models through work, projects or courses.
• Experience developing software with Python and software engineering best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, business acumen, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be a US citizen.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop ML/AI algorithms for autonomous systems across defense and commercial domains.
• Advance ML/vision/controls techniques and prototype AI solutions for mission systems.
• Document requirements, design implementations, and interface with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle.
