Job summary

Valleywise Health is seeking an Ostomy/Wound Care RN to lead individualized plans of care for patients with ostomies, wounds, and pressure injuries, and to provide expert education and compassionate support.

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams, serve as a clinical resource, and apply evidence-based practices to promote healing, safety, and dignity across the patient care continuum.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s or higher in Nursing.
• At least one year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates required knowledge and skills, or if New Grad RN program completed at Valleywise Health, at least one year of Valleywise Health RN experience in good standing.
• Previous acute care hospital experience in the area for which applying is preferred.
• Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, a temporary AZ RN license, or a valid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
• Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
• Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead individualized plans of care for patients with ostomies, wounds, and pressure ulcers
• Provide comprehensive preoperative and postoperative education to patients and families, empowering them with the skills and confidence to manage care independently
• Serve as a clinical resource and consultant to physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams on enterostomal and wound management
• Deliver hands-on patient education, counseling, and emotional support during critical moments of recovery
• Apply evidence-based practices and the latest clinical standards to promote optimal healing outcomes
• Practice autonomously while collaborating closely with care teams to ensure safe, high-quality care across the continuum
