Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Irving, TX seeks an Automotive Service Workflow Supervisor to coordinate shop flow for an autonomous fleet. You will triage, assign tasks to technicians, and keep vehicles moving by translating signals from partners into actionable work orders.

Role requires 3–5 years in service-adjacent roles, experience with hybrid/high-voltage systems, and strong Excel/CMMS skills. This is an on-site position with comprehensive benefits and paid training.

This initiative reflects our commitment to advancing modern mobility solutions beyond traditional rental services.As an Automotive Service Workflow Supervisor, you will act as the central point of coordination and visibility for maintenance work entering, moving through, and leaving the shop. You translate signals from our partner, telematics, and roadside recovery into clear, prioritized work for our technicians. You will act as the primary point of coordination to keep the shop moving.Using your automotive service expertise, you will assess repair needs, assign work based on technician skill sets, and manage daily workflow to maximize productivity, repair quality, and vehicle availability. Your coordination will play an important role in keeping our autonomous vehicle fleet operating safely and efficiently.What You’ll DoIntake & Triage: Oversee the intake and triage process for all vehicles, including vehicle assessments, work order reviews, diagnostic information and other alerts, prioritizing fleet-wide up-time targets, not first-in, first out.Dispatch & Traffic Control: Assign work to the right technician, monitoring daily shop workflow to promote efficient scheduling and balanced technician utilization, continually rebalancing work as needed.WIP Management: Maintain live awareness of every vehicle in the shop, reviewing technician productivity, coordinating and/or escalating to relevant parties and completing shift hand-offs.Operator Communication and Collaboration: Serve as the primary shop-floor point of contact, providing accurate proactive status updates, collaborating with the service manager, parts personnel, technicians, and operational partners to support timely repairs.Ride Hail Coordination: Own the handoff of the vehicle back to active customer use.Process & Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives and the consistent execution of standard operating procedures by analyzing shop performance data and recommending improvements that increase efficiency, vehicle availability, and service quality.Technician Oversight: Build a rapport with technicians, coach on quality, productivity and process, ensure repair assignments and completed work meet applicable quality, safety, and manufacturer standards, notify the Service Manager and/or on-duty Operations Manager, as appropriate, of any performance and/or behavioral issues.Diagnosis and Repair: May be required to perform mechanical, electrical, and high-voltage repairs across electric and autonomous vehicle platforms based on the needs of the business.Other duties as assigned.Perks You’ll Get:Competitive bi-weekly hourly wageAccess to Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability insuranceEligible to elect other voluntary benefits including Group Auto Insurance, Group Home Insurance, Pet Insurance, Legal Assistance, Identity Theft Protection, FSA, Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, and additional life insurance coveragesCompetitive Paid Time OffContribute up to $270 as a tax-free benefit for public transportation or parking expenses401(k) Retirement Plan with company matched contributionsFull training to learn the business and enhance professional skillsEmployee discounts, including discounted prices on the purchase of Avis/Budget carsAccess to an Employee Assistance Program for services including counseling, financial and legal consultation, referrals for care service and moreWhat We’re Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical education preferredThree to five years experience in a service advisor, service writer, shop foreman or service coordinator role2 or more years' experience working on hybrid and/or high voltage systems and able to use test tools and read electrical wiring schematics. ASE EV Level 1, 2 and/or 3 Certifications preferredDemonstrated experience with high-voltage diagnostics, module replacement, and advanced system troubleshootingStrong working knowledge of EV safety protocols, software-driven diagnostics, and calibration processesStrong understanding of automotive repair processes and technician skill requirementsFluency with a DMS, CMMS, or FMIS (Fleetio, Samsara, Dossier, CDK, Tekmetric, ServiceNow Fleet, or comparable)Experience coordinating shop workflow, prioritizing repairs, and assigning work.Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsStrong general technology comfort – email, chat/collaboration tools; ability to pick up new systems quicklyStrong working knowledge of Excel, Word, Google Drive, and other tools as part of your daily workflowAbility to remain organized and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment with competing prioritiesStrong written and oral communication skills, especially to operational leaders and highly technical data-driven partnersValid driver’s license and authorization to work in the United StatesSuccessful completion of pre-employment qualification checksAbility to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, nights, or weekends as business needs requireAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for up to 8 hours and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. with assistanceAbility to work outdoors in varying environments and indoors in a mechanical shop with loud to moderate noisesThis position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotelyThe annual hourly rate for this position is $30.00/hour+.
