truckingpeople in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Professional Driver – Vehicle Data Collection to support an autonomous vehicle program. This full-time role offers $22.00–$24.00 per hour, a 6 month to 1 year contract, and two shifts: AM 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM; PM 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM. Training is provided.

Ideal candidates have a valid U.S. Driver's License, a clean driving record, and strong situational awareness. You should be comfortable using smartphones and apps and able to work independently.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. Driver's License.
• Clean driving record.
• Strong defensive driving skills.
• Tech Savvy and good computer skills.
• Ability to work independently while following detailed instructions.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to pass background screening.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company-owned vehicles on assigned city, suburban, and highway routes.
• Drive for extended periods while maintaining situational awareness and defensive driving habits.
• Follow all traffic laws, company procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Use company-issued smartphones and mobile applications to support driving data collection.
• Record route information, driving observations, and operational issues accurately.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and readiness throughout your shift.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams.
• Represent the company professionally while operating vehicles in public.
