Job summary

truckingpeople is seeking a Data Collection Driver in Dallas to support real-world data gathering for autonomous vehicle projects. You will drive test vehicles on set routes, perform safety checks, and document observations while coordinating with engineers to improve system performance.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of driving experience with a clean record, familiarity with basic digital file management, and an interest in AV technology, though AV experience isn’t required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of driving experience with a valid license.
• Experience with data collection for AV/testing environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of Linux/Command Line is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Drive test vehicles for 4–8 hours daily on predefined routes, ensuring safety protocols.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and address maintenance needs.
• Conduct basic software operations to support real-time data collection.
• Accurately document observations, issues, and anomalies during tests.
• Collaborate with engineers to provide feedback for system improvements.
• Assist with vehicle logistics, maintenance coordination, and storage.
